Since the launch of Spanish developer Crema's Pokemon competitor in 2020, the game has seen plenty of buzz as an adversary to the iconic monster-catching franchise. The game brings Pokemon's traditional monster-catching formula into an MMORPG format, featuring a deep and complex battling system focused around double battles. Now, the newest update features even more ways for players to experience the game.
Throughout the storied history of the Pokemon franchise, the «Nuzlocke» has become one of the most popular forms of challenge modes among players. Nuzlocke challenges feature limitations on how many creatures a player can catch, limiting themselves to the first Pokemon in each area. The challenge also removes Pokemon's revival mechanics, with fainted Pokemon considered as «dead» and being removed from a player's party. Nuzlocke challenges have seen massive popularity among Pokemon fans and, now, Temtem has its own Nuzlocke mode.
Temtem Update 1.2.1 Adds Battle Chat and More
Temtem's Update 1.3 officially launched earlier this week bringing a variety of new elements to the popular monster-catching game. The newest update introduces three new challenge modes to the game with the Nuzlocke mode, a Randomlocke mode, and a Speedrun mode added. The Randomlocke takes many of the same gameplay elements as a Nuzlocke challenge, while throwing in randomized Temtems, items, and NPC teams. The Speedrun introduces timers to each area of the game, offering rewards for players' main saves by completing the speedrun challenges.
