Today sees the launch of Capcom’s highly anticipated remake, Resident Evil 4 — And for you multiplayer fans out there, the publisher has finally announced a launch date for popular co-op mode The Mercenaries, which will arrive as a free update on all platforms Friday, April 7.
Mercenaries is a multiplayer mode that first made its debut with the launch of the original GameCube edition of Resident Evil 4, back in 2005. The mode sees players battling it out against hordes of enemies against an incredibly strict time limit. Typically, the mode features several characters from the respective Resident Evil title, including side characters and other NPCs. The Mercenaries mode has since appeared in sequels such as Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, and, most recently, Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil 4 is available now on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox Series X platforms.
