Resident Evil 4 Remake players aren't doing a particularly good job of looking after Ashley, as clips of the poor lass getting whacked in the face are shared online.
Whether it's her stepping in the way of an attack, or Leon ducking so she takes the blow instead, Ashley isn't having a lot of luck on many of our playthroughs. And worst of all, the much more realistic visuals are only making it funnier. Hey, no one can accuse her of having bad comedic timing at least.

The most common cause of injury appears to stem from her poor reaction times. Whenever Leon ducks out of the way of an enemy attack, Ashley tends to stand so close behind that she bears the brunt of it instead - and it looks painful.
Of course, Ashley isn't safe if she stays in front of Leon either. Not only does this put her closer to the enemies, it also puts her in Leon's line of fire, leaving her to get shot if an enemy manages to get out of the way in time. Thankfully, she's remarkably good at shrugging off headshots. What a trooper.
Unfortunately for Ashley, the combination of slapstick comedy with amazing next-gen graphics is enough to amuse far too many of us. Clips of her getting whacked across the face are going viral, and even if it makes us feel kinda bad, it's easy to see why.
Putting Ashley's misfortunes aside, it's safe to say that Resident Evil 4 Remake has been a hit (ha) with fans.
