It’s a big, big day of travel for a lot of people as the double bank holiday for Easter kicks in, so I’ve no doubt that there’s a fair few Nintendo Switches and Steam Decks that have been stashed in travel bags. Me, though? I’ve shoved an Xbox Series S in my bag because there’s games to be reviewing!
Building up to this point, the last week has seen me juggling a few daily games, starting with a dash through Halo Infinite’s weekly challenges so I can soon put that battle pass to one side for a couple months, and then folding over to include Meet Your Maker off PS+. It’s an unusual game, but i found myself really enjoying my painstaking approach to raiding other player outposts, and then getting a little silly with some of my own outpost creations.
Presumably a big fan of the whole “zombie Jesus” joke, Gamoc has been playing open world zombie game Days Gone this week – “Turns out the problem with Days Gone (other than stupid time wasting decisions like making you walk very slowly for extended periods of time because they can’t be arsed doing a cutscene) is that all the cool stuff you want to do all the time is kept until the last quarter of the game.” That and a bit of Animal Shelter Simulator, which he’s still plugging away at for a review.
It’s been more of Midnight Suns for Aran, who’s now best buds with Ghost Rider and has ended up in a book club with Blade, of all people. He’s found himself totally invested in all of the side content, he’s no idea if he’s even halfway through the game’s main story.
Nic B’s been “drowning in work” – it’s a good thing he’s not a life guard or this could be quite serious – but he’s been sneaking in the odd five minutes of Marvel Snap here and there, and finding some time after work to speed
