Nintendo is adding a trio of Mario spinoff games to its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service to celebrate Mario Day, adding two sports games and a puzzle game. 2024's celebration of the iconic Nintendo mascot brought plenty of news about the future of the franchise, with multiple major announcements during the livestream. Nintendo would reveal the production of a second Super Mario Bros. Movie, alongside confirming the release dates for the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 remakes. Now, multiple Mario games are set to come to the Switch.
Nintendo's premium online subscription offers players access to plenty of classic Mario games across several platforms. Players can access each of the original NES Super Mario Bros. games through the base subscription, as well as Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and several spinoffs. The Expansion Pass for the service also offers access to beloved games like Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, and the first three Mario Party games. Now, three more Mario spinoffs are headed to the subscription service as part of this year's Mario Day celebrations.
During a Mario Day broadcast filled with announcements, Nintendo revealed three Mario spinoffs will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online later this week.
