Frostpunk 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 11 bit studios' grim city building survival game, finally has some dates for its upcoming beta. This news is sure to excite fans looking to play Frostpunk 2 before its official release later in the summer.
Announced all the way back in August 2021 with a gruesome cinematic trailer, Frostpunk 2 has been on the wishlists of many city builder fans for quite a while. Set 30 years after the events of the original 2018 game, the sequel is set to take the mechanics of the original Frostpunk to a new level. This game is going to focus not just on surviving a volcanic winter, but also on keeping the city of New London healthy and prepared for the future. Ever since its reveal, fans had been eagerly waiting to find out when they could get their hands on the game, until they finally got a release date of July 25th, 2024 at the recent Xbox Partner Preview. That announcement also came alongside the confirmation of a closed beta in available exclusively to those who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game. Fortunately, those interested in the game finally have an exact date of when this beta is going to take place.
The official Frostpunk account shared on Twitter that the Frostpunk 2 beta would be set during the third week of April 2024, from April 15th to April 22nd. In the Tweet, 11 bit studios also reminded players that in order to access the 7-day beta, they should pre-order the Deluxe Edition, which is currently on sale on Steam with a 10% discount. It is important to note that those who participate in the beta will not be able to access all the content in the game prior to its July release. Rather, players will only be able to play the «Utopia Builder» mode, which is an enhanced version of the sandbox mode from the original game.
