Blizzard announced that the final World of Warcraft: Dragonflight content update, Dark Heart, will launch on Tuesday, May 7, and will give players a new story to bridge the gap between the Dragonflight and The War Within expansions. Shortly after the upcoming World of Warcraft update goes live, the highly-anticipated WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria mode will launch at the same time globally, on Thursday, May 16.
The Dark Heart update for World of Warcraft will launch two weeks after Dragonflight Season 4 goes live on Tuesday, April 23. Season 4 will give players a chance to obtain higher item-level weapons and armor by completing Awakened raids that rotate weekly between the three Dragonflight raids. In addition, Heroic and Mythic dungeons will receive changes in both their difficulty and the rewards earned for clearing them. However, Blizzard clarified that Heroic dungeons in Dragonflight Season 4 will not see any mechanics or additions that are exclusive to Mythic+ dungeons. Blizzard also stated that Revival Catalyst charges will also be reset in Season 4, but will be activated shortly after the season is underway.
After Dragonflight Season 4 gets underway, World of Warcraft will see another content update to tide them over until The War Within's release. According to a Blizzard blog post, Patch 10.2.7, Dark Heart, will go live on Tuesday, May 7. The update will give players a chance to experience a story quest featuring Xal'atath Harbinger of the Void, the main antagonist of the War Within expansion. In short, Xal'atath is a Void entity that was once bound to the Blade of the Black Empire, the Shadow Priest's artifact weapon in the Legion expansion. Xal'atath was eventually freed from the weapon after striking a bargain with the Old God N'Zoth during the Battle for Azeroth expansion. In addition, the Dark Heart update will give Draenei and Troll heritage armor quests, and six new hair colors will be available to Kul Tiran characters.
