Activision Blizzard’s catalog of titles slowly being made available via Game Pass is one of the most significant things Xbox users have to look forward to, now that the company is officially part of Microsoft. That process kicked off late last month when Diablo 4 launched for the subscription service, which, it turns out, coincided with the game’s player base enjoying a significant boost on Xbox consoles.
The same was revealed by Xbox president Sarah Bond in a recent email sent out to employees. As reported by Windows Central, in the email, while going over the immediate aftermath of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Bond revealed that after Diablo 4’s Game Pass release, Xbox quickly became the “number one platform” for the action RPG.
“We are integrating Activision Blizzard King titles into our services,” Bond wrote. “We launched Diablo 4 into Game Pass, and Xbox has quickly become the number one platform for Diablo 4 players.”
No specific figures were provided for what the game’s player count stands at now, or how it’s split across all platforms.
Bond’s email also revealed that Xbox has established a new internal team dedicated to game preservation. Read more on that through here.
Diablo 4 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
