Nintendo Switch 2 Will Launch This Year with a Custom Nvidia Chip – Rumour
Rumours of Nintendo’s next console continue to gather pace by the day, and though the Japanese company itself has yet to say anything about the Switch’s successor in an official capacity, leaks continue to insist that the console is set to launch sometime in 2024.
Another report published by Reuters has now claimed the same. As per the report, which cites an anonymous source, Nintendo’s next console will launch this year, contributing to significant growth for the video game custom chip market. Allegedly, the Switch’s successor will feature a custom Nvidia chip. Considering the fact that the Switch itself uses a custom Nvidia Tegra X1 chip, most would have predicted the same.
Previous leaks have also claimed that the console will feature DLSS support, and that it will launch with an 8-inch LCD screen. Recently, it was claimed that Nintendo will announce the console in March, with a release expected sometime in the second half of the year.
A recent report has also claimed that the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) will feature physical and digital backward compatibility, and even allow developers to make technical enhancements to existing Switch titles. Read more on that through here.
