The Stellar Blade demo briefly appeared on the US PlayStation Store before it was pulled by Sony.
The demo weighed in at more than 16GB, and was spotted by X users 'PlayStation Game Size' and 'Wario64'. While it appears that some lucky PS5 players were even able to play the demo, Sony has now locked out those users from playing it by removing the license for the demo. When visiting the PS Store page for the demo, the page now gives an error.
From the looks of it, someone pushed the release button for this demo a bit too early ahead of the game's global release on PlayStation 5 next month. Sony will likely end up releasing this demo closer to the game's release.
As said, Stellar Blade launches for PS5 next month on April 26th. The game is among our most anticipated action titles for 2024 and will offer a mix of linear environments and open-world zones. "The beginning of the game has a linear structure, but it still allows for a wide range of exploration. Once you enter the city of Zion, it becomes a semi-open world where you can freely explore", Game Director Kim Hyung-tae recently explained. "After that, you'll go to another linear area, so we're mixing linear scenes with open world. We believe that users will enjoy a seamless and smooth experience without any interruptions."
As covered last month, the game will offer three different visual modes on PlayStation 5 - a performance mode focusing on 60FPS, a quality mode with support for 4K resolution, and a balanced mode that aims to find the right balance between quality and performance.
Be sure to check out the extended gameplay trailer that Sony and developer Shift Up released during its State of Play broadcast back in January of this year.
