A new seven-day trial for Nintendo Switch Online is currently being offered in Europe.
The offer, which is available to claim from the My Nintendo website until April 2, is not open to current subscribers.
However, it is available to players who redeemed a free trial code in a separate promotion earlier this month.
Free trial users will gain access to online play in supported Nintendo Switch titles, be able to use voice chat via the smartphone app, and have the ability to backup save files to the cloud.
They’ll also be able to sample Switch Online’s library of NES, SNES and Game Boy games.
Other classic game libraries (Nintendo 64, Sega Mega Drive / Genesis and Game Boy Advance) are only available with the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass.
Kirby’s Dream Land 2 and BurgerTime Deluxe joined the Game Boy library this month, while Side Pocket and Xevious were added to the SNES and NES libraries respectively.
Trial members won’t be able to purchase any of the classic console controllers, which are exclusively available to Switch Online subscribers.
The Wii U and 3DS eShops will close later today, marking the end of two more digital game marketplaces.
Nintendo has been gradually shutting down components of each store in recent months, and today marks the final step, in which purchases will no longer be available.
