The New World team has shared a new community Q&A, answering questions about everything from character rename and barber shops, to more open world PVP options, Fresh Start servers, and more.
As the Forged in Aeternum community Q&A videos tend to be, this one featured a wide range. The first question was about one of the highlights of season 2, the sand wurm elite Trial. In addition to asking whether they were happy with the win rates, a second question wondered if they will eventually tune this trial so that more people can get through it.
According to David Verfaillie, they’re pleased with the win rates. The Trial was designed intentionally to be a big challenge, so instead of tuning the fight to be easier over time, their hope is that as gear score improves that more people will grow into being able to handle it.
They were also asked about a couple of practical features, including a character rename feature and a barber shop. There are no plans for either of these things to reveal yet, The team has discussed both of them and already announced their intention to eventually have a feature like a barbershop for additional customization.
As for Fresh Start servers, if you were hoping to see them in 2023, the team is working on new content and revamping the main storyline quests. If we do eventually see another round, it won’t be until 2024.
Another big topic that came up is PVP. One question covered Outpost Rush and some of the lopsided matches that keep occurring and the team is keeping an eye on it and work is coming. On Siege weapons, there are no definitive plans but they are considering making some additions.
With open world PVP, one asker mentioned elements like caravan trading or hot zones in the open world.
