A newly unveiled image from an upcoming issue of Empire has given Marvel fans a better look at Moon Knight's Egyptian god of the Moon, Khonshu. Voiced by F. Murray Abraham, the deity grants the titular hero his powers at a cost. Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, Gaspard Ulliel, and May Calamaway.
Introduced by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz as part of Moon Knight's revised origin in Moon Knight #1 in 1980, Khonshu resurrected the recently killed mercenary Marc Spector following a failed assignment in Egypt. Fully healed and gifted with powers such as enhanced strength, endurance, reflexes, and mental capabilities, Spector becomes the Egyptian god's avatar, protecting the innocent and punishing wrongdoers with the abilities Khonshu bestowed upon him. A mysterious figure in Marvel's vast universe of gods, superhumans, and cosmic figures, Khonshu will make his first live-action appearance in the upcoming Disney+series voiced by Abraham. A recently uncovered image has given fans a better glimpse at his on-screen appearance.
