Ethan Hawke says that Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight will give Robert Downey Jr. a run for his money in the MCU. The actor returns to the comic book movie world following the critically panned X-Men: Apocalypse. This time, in the MCU proper, he's playing Marc Spector in the upcoming Disney+ series.
The MCU has exponentially expanded since it started 14 years ago with Jon Favreau's Iron Man starring Downey. After three Phases, the Infinity Saga ended with Avengers: Endgame, which also served as Tony Stark's swan song. Despite being officially out of the franchise for a while now, the genius billionaire remains an important character in the universe, with some even theorizing that Iron Man is set to make a comeback. But aside from his character's well-developed arc over a span of 11 years, fans also loved Downey's commitment to his role, always giving his A-game regardless of how big or small his part in a movie was.

Now, it seems like Isaac will deliver the same level of commitment to playing Marc Spector on Moon Knight — at least according to his co-star, Ethan Hawke. As reported in the latest issue of Empire Magazine (via The Direct), which has an extensive feature on the next Marvel Studios Disney+ project, Isaac gives «an electrifying performance» that«Robert Downey [Jr.] has got a run for his money.» Unfortunately, he didn't get into specifics about this, but it's more than enough to make viewers more excited for the limited series that's set to premiere next month.
