Oscar Isaac confirms what many fans had begun to speculate and reveals his British accent in Moon Knightis intentionally strange. Marvel Studios is currently gearing up for the debut of its first 2022 project, the Disney+ series Moon Knight. Originally announced to be in development back in 2019, Moon Knight was shuffled around on the release calendar as the coronavirus pandemic impacted production and the Phase 4 schedule. Isaac was cast in the lead role of Marc Spector in late 2020; he'll be joined by the late Gaspard Ulliel, May Calamawy, and Ethan Hawke as the primary villain.
Marvel has only recently begun to pull back the curtain on Moon Knight, starting with a full-length trailer last month. The footage revealed Isaac as Steven Grant, a mild-mannered museum employee haunted by strange visions and restless sleep. He can't make sense of the odd things happening to him, which are further complicated when someone calls him looking for Marc. After the Moon Knight trailer debuted, one of the biggest talking points was Isaac's exaggerated British accent. Many called it out online and began to poke fun at it, while those with knowledge of the comics had a feeling they knew exactly what was going on.

Now Isaac has confirmed that his odd approach to Steven's accent in Moon Knight was intentional. Speaking to Empire as part of a recent cover story about the Marvel series, the actor was careful not to reveal too much. However, Isaac did say he's thrilled people are talking about the accent and hinted there are major reasons why he created it. Isaac said:
