A “Made in India” iPhone 13 has been long on the cards, and after the tension at Foxconn’s Chennai plant late last year, it is all set to be manufactured in India. Apple already manufactures its iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and the outgoing iPhone SE in India, and now the iPhone 13 joins this list. But don’t get your hopes high on its pricing though! Apple’s global pricing strategy might keep the Indian prices the same. That said, there are chances we might see an official price drop, considering the trend every year.
The iPhone 13 was put into trial production earlier, and would have been already on a full manufacturing spree had the tensions not popped up at the Foxconn Sriperumbudur plant. Foxconn was under the scanner from Apple and local authorities to provide good living facilities for its employees. According to a Business Standard report now, the situation has been solved and Apple is set to begin the iPhone 13’s local manufacturing soon.
The iPhone 13 manufactured in India is said to be export ready while also being sold in India. Prices may not be affected with this new manufacturing plan, considering that Apple would want to maintain its pricing strategy in India. Hence, the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 could still have starting prices of Rs. 69,990 and Rs. 79,990.
