A new update for The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 has begun rolling out for Steam users. Konami surprised gamers in 2023 by announcing the first 5 Metal Gear games would be bundled under the moniker of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. The collection features Metal Gear 1 and 2, along with the first three Metal Gear Solid games.
The last update arrived in January 2024 and brought full Steam Deck compatibility to the latest Metal Gear Solid collection, a much-welcome addition to gamers. Konami is now continuing to support the long-running tactical espionage game with the latest update that is now rolling out to players using the PC version.
In a post across the Metal Gear social accounts, the 1.5.0 Update to the Master Collection is available for Steam. The patch will address several issues across the 5 games, primarily with Metal Gear Solid. These include fixing bugs that caused the game to stop playing certain cutscenes, as well as addressing the unresponsive analog control glitch. Konami confirmed that the update will roll out to PS5, PS4, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S by the end of March 2024.
For Metal Gear Solid 2, the patch will add a new pause menu where players will be able to manage the game’s audio and screen settings, view the online manual, and reset the game. Metal Gear Solid 3 will see several graphical fixes, as well as the addition of a mouse sensitivity option. The 1.5.0 update even addresses minor issues found within the bonus features introduced in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.
Since the game’s release in October 2023, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 has had a published list of known bugs, which the developers have been systematically working through. With the latest round of development complete, the only item left on the list is an intermittent issue where audio distortions occur in the Nintendo Switch version of the collection.
