Released in October 2023, the collection features the first five main entries, accompanied by additional content such as VR Missions, NES versions of earlier games, game guides, and motion comics. Notably, the collection marks the debut of Metal Gear Solid on Xbox platforms and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox consoles, providing fans with diverse ways to experience the renowned stealth series.
During a Metal Gear Production Hotline session, Konami shared insights into the current status of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 after its latest update, acknowledging several persistent issues reported by players. These issues include graphical discrepancies, suboptimal settings for modern hardware, lack of control configuration options, and unnatural keyboard controls on certain platforms. Additionally, specific Codec and radio voice data are reportedly missing on the Nintendo Switch version of the collection.
Series producer Noriaki Okamura and promotion manager Jiro Oishi assured fans that fixes for these issues are in progress.
