Like clockwork, HEXWORKS released the promised Lords of the Fallen Thursday patch, which weighs slightly less than 1GB on Steam. Version 1.1.243 brings some performance improvements thanks to the developer's collaboration with Epic Games:
The most important fix fans had been waiting for was the reduced enemy density, though. It was one of the main critiques made to Lords of the Fallen by reviewers, including our own Francesco De Meo.
The adjustments were made in the following locations: Redcopse, Sanctuary of Baptism, Pilgrim's Perch, Forsaken Fen, Fitzroy's Gorge, and Lower Calrath. Moreover, they only apply to NG0.
This Lords of the Fallen update also makes the sprint animations a bit more realistic and tweaks Vestige (bonfire) numbers in New Game Plus modes. Now, NG+1 removes 9 Vestiges, NG+2 removes 14 Vestiges, and NG+3 removes all Vestiges except for Skyrest Bridge and Adyr's Shrine.
Publisher CI Games revealed earlier this week that Lords of the Fallen has sold over a million units across all platforms in its first ten days on the market. Two expansions are rumored to be on the way; though they haven't been confirmed yet, DLC is definitely coming given the solid commercial performance.
