Logitech is taking advantage of artificial intelligence to offer two-way noise-free calls for the Zone Wireless 2 headset.
Typically, noise-cancelling headphones only work for suppressing noise in the wearer's environment, leaving them to endure any background noise coming from the other person on the call. The Zone Wireless 2 claims to solve that problem because the embedded AI also suppresses ambient noise "from the other person's side of the call."
The "hybrid active noise cancellation" works in combination with the Logi Tune software, which has an Advanced Call Clarity feature. It works by separating the caller's voice and tuning out all other background noise. At the same time, four noise-canceling mics are used to suppress background sounds on the wearer's end of the call using beamforming technology.
The Zone Wireless 2 is aimed at "skilled professionals," and particularly those who work in noisy environments such as a call center. The headset is certified for Microsoft Teams with premium microphone for open office, as well as for Zoom, Google Meet, Google Voice, and Fast Pair.
Logitech is promising up to 40 hours of battery life (up to 18 hours of talk time) and an hour of talk time from a five-minute charge. There's a touch panel on the ear cup for media and volume controls, on-ear detection to automatically play or pause media, and a choice of three colors (graphite, off-white, or rose). Smart enumeration is also employed to allow for intelligent switching between headset audio and computer audio when the headset is turned on/off.
The Zone Wireless 2 is available now for $249.99. Included in the box is a USB-C receiver, USB-A adapter, USB-C charging cable, and a travel bag. Purchasing direct from Logitech.com
