No luck on the dating apps? Maybe your inner circle will be better at finding you a match. Tinder this week rolled out Tinder Matchmaker, which gives your friends and family the power to recommend profiles for your consideration.
Tinder says over 75% of surveyed singles talk about their dating life with friends multiple times per month. When using Tinder, most folks simply hand the phone over to their friend to inspect their match to see if they pass the vibe check. Typically, this activity takes place after getting a match, combining the traditional Tinder experience with a "friend test."
With the new update, a user can initiate a Tinder Matchmaker session from any profile card. Links they create can be shared with up to 15 friends over a 24-hour period. Matchmakers then swipe left or right on behalf of their friend for each shared profile. Once the sessions expire, the original user reviews the approved profiles and decides whether or not to pursue them.
"For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now we're making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker," says Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Hobley. “Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you."
To promote the new feature, Tinder partnered with rapper Coi Leray, whom Tinder crowns the Matchmaking Monarch of Tinder Court in a new ad for the feature, which you can view above.
