Contrary to some recent speculation, the Horizon 3 reveal is not imminent, a leaker of rising prominence has claimed. Aside from the next entry in the Horizon franchise, the insider also offered an update on the next Naughty Dog project.
The source in question is Twitter user Silknigth, who has only been active on social media since January 2024 but has already developed a solid reputation as someone who shares credible insights. Their biggest scoop to date concerned the Ghost of Tsushima PC port, on whose existence they first insisted in late February before correctly leaking the date of its announcement, March 6, a day in advance.
Silknigth has now once again taken to Twitter to chime in on the recent speculation about the Horizon Forbidden West sequel, which some fans were hoping to see announced this spring. That may not necessarily happen, with the leaker claiming that the third mainline Horizon game «will take a bit longer to be revealed» in an April 4 tweet. Responding to a question from one of their followers, Silknigth also said that Naughty Dog's currently active project isn't The Last of Us 3, but a brand-new IP.
The leaker subsequently clarified that Naughty Dog is still working on The Last of Us 3, just that the project itself hasn't yet entered «full production,» unlike the mysterious new IP that the studio is said to be developing right now. The claim tracks with what Naughty Dog President Neil Druckmann said in Grounded 2, the recently released documentary on the making of the second entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise. The film includes a segment in which Druckmann reveals that he indeed came up with a concept for The Last of Us Part 3 following much deliberation, thus essentially confirming that the game will happen at some point.
As for Horizon 3, although Silknigth did not specify exactly when the game may finally be revealed, that still looks likely to happen at some point in 2024. With Sony itself confirming this year won't see it release
