League of Legends pro player Lu ‘Leyan’ Jue has been suspended for two matches and fined $6000 for his on-stream behavior.
In a statement, League of Legends publisher Riot denounced his “remarks and morally controversial behavior” actions as “inappropriate”.
As spotted by Dexerto, a video posted to the Chinese social platform Bilibili shows the player seemingly humping a large stuffed bear during a stream.
X user Yuuu also says Jue held a content on one stream against another streamer, and promised to vape on-stage during a League of Legends event if he lost, which goes against Riot’s rules.
“Recently, Leyan, a player of the League of Legends branch of the Invictus Gaming E-Sports Club, made inappropriate words and deeds many times during the live broadcast, which caused extensive discussions on the Internet and adverse effects,” Jue’s team Invictus Gaming said in a statement.
“Our club educated and criticised him, and made the decision to deduct two months of salary from player Lu Jue (ID: Leyan), and accept all penalties decided by the League of Legends Professional Events Disciplinary Management Team”.
Jue addressed the incident with the bear on Wiebo on April 21, writing (translated by VGC): “It’s not what people think, the bear was too big, the song was rocking in the headphones. I just simply think the bear is cute, I was hugging it and rocking a little bit.”
