Hawke’s orange-colored character Anxiety is one of teenaged Riley’s newest emotions, who promises to stir things up within the headquarters. “Anxiety might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” Mann said in a statement. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.”
Inside Out 2 is directed by Kelsey Mann from a screenplay written by Meg LeFauve. It is produced by Mark Nielsen, with original director Pete Docter serving as an executive producer. The sequel will once again feature the voices of Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger. Joining them are Tony Hale and Liza Lapira as the new voices of Fear and Disgust, respectively. Besides Anxiety,
“The film returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone,” reads the synopsis.
