Skull and Bones has a new release date. Really. Ubisoft revealed that the upcoming pirate MMO is set to raise anchor on February 16th, 2024. There’s a new trailer, and even a deep dive into closed beta, which continues in a new test next week.
We know what you’re thinking about a release date for Skull and Bones after many delays, though Ubisoft had previously set late Q4 2023-24 as a window. They are moving ahead with plans for launch, the game has a list of pre-order perks, including a three-day head start and bonus goodies, and a second closed beta is soon. So soon, it's next week, from December 15-18th, across all supported platforms. This means PC via Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X | S.
The team has shared a deep dive into everything you need to know for closed beta.
Beta will unlock on December 14th at 6PM PT, December 15th/3 AM CET, and end on Monday, December 18th at 12 AM PT/9AM CET. If you are interested in joining the beta, you'll have to apply for an invite. If you get one, you'll be able to test out the game for six hours within the closed beta time frame. If you do get a test invite, you'll be able to invite up to two friends to also participate.
When you enter the game, you'll be able to check out the Red Isle and sail around the coast of Africa and the open seas, meeting members of other factions along the way, whether peacefully or not. Discover beneficial locations where you can up your ammo supply and fix your ship, and set course for treasure and infamy. Golden Path Contracts are a way to progress and build your pirate rep.
Time ticks down when you are in a game session, including whenever you are idling in a menu. so be careful not to waste your time
