Microsoft has announced the first library update for Xbox Game Pass in 2024, with a great batch of games that includes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake, Hell Let Loose and plenty more.
AC Valhalla was the first Assassin’s Creed of the generation, a cross-gen release that graced us in the first few days of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 era. Another vast action RPG, it takes us to the 800s and the Viking invasion of the British Isles. It became a tentpole release for Ubisoft, supported for years with around two years of DLC and free content updates, before Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched in 2023 – taking a planned DLC for Valhalla and expanding it to a full game release.
Resident Evil 2 is a fantastic remake of the PS1 horror classic, completely remaking the game with modern controls, stunningly good visuals, and fiddling with the story a little to bring it up to date as well.
Then there’s Hell Let Loose a hardcore WW2 first person shooter that eats a little bit of Battlefield’s lunch with battles for up to 100 players, but demands that players take it more seriously.
As always, Xbox Game Pass updates are rolled out game by game through the month, and this batch is coming through the first half of January 2024 as follows:
It’s a pretty solid update to start off the year, wouldn’t you say? What games will you be dipping into?
