Hideo Kojima’s Xbox-exclusive OD seems to be about scared floating heads?
Hideo Kojima turned up at The Game Awards 2023 to reveal OD, the Xbox-exclusive project that he has been working on. It is, shall we say, quite… odd.
OD will star Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier as floating holographic heads reading out passages that they seem to be rather scared of.
Using the Xbox Game Studios publishing partnership and the Azure cloud, Kojima hasn’t really been drawn on what OD actually is. It’s apparently a game, a movie and something completely new as well. it uses Unreal Engine, 3Lateral and Metahuman technology.
In an interesting twist, Jordan Peele joined Kojima on stage, the creator of Get Out, Nope and more revealed as a collaborator on the project. He’s apparently not the only collaborator, so expect more announcements and a long drip feed of teasers through the game’s development.
