Development veteran Hideo Kojima has partnered with Microsoft for his next title.
The project – called OD – was revealed at The Game Awards and also sees the industry vet teaming up with film maker Jordan Peele of Nope and Get Out fame. This new venture appears to be drawing from Kojima's interest in horror titles and is certainly reminiscent of the PT demo for the cancelled Silent Hills project.
“We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game – or rather, a new form of media,” Kojima said.
OD features Sophia Lillis of Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves fame, as well as Hunter Schaffer from Euphoria and Flesh for Frankenstein's Udo Kier.
This is likely the cloud-based game that Kojima announced he was partnering with Microsoft for back in 2022.
