Riders Republic, Ubisoft’s online multiplayer sports simulator, has started its winter-themed ninth season, offering players incentives to log in throughout the start of 2024.
The open-world extreme sports simulator will have events and challenges for holidays leading up to Lunar New Year, promising a challenge with free prizes for participation. There’ll also be the return of the X-Games with a freestyle competition, taking place January 24-31, as well as weekly unique rewards for winning Mass Races.
Right now is the Holiday Season Celebration until January 3rd, with a New Year’s Eve one only going the 31st until January 2nd. The Lunar New Year celebration takes place February 7-14.
The season started on December 20th and will continue for 13 weeks with this series of free events. All players also have access to the free Season progression mechanics, which are like “battle passes” allowing players to earn rewards, except free to all players.
Most notable for players is likely the inclusion of a pair of Gibson skis belonging to “steepsteep,” a YouTuber known well in the skiing community, though it’ll take 20 levels to get there.
Riders Republic allows players to pull off tricks in five extreme sports: snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX (bike motocross), skateboarding, and wingsuit gliding. Players can join matcheswith and/or against others; on the PC, up to 64 people can participate in certain modes, though console versions only allow 20 players
