Tennis fans can finally rejoice, for 2K has at last announced Top Spin 2K25 with a brief teaser trailer. The announcement came in conjunction with the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open. No further details were shared, although 2K told fans to 'stay tuned' and that the game is coming 'soon'. There's also an official website, though no further info can be found on it.
Do not be alarmed by the '2K25' mention in the title, though. 2K tends to use the following year compared to the actual release, as evidenced by NBA 2K24 (released in September 2023).
The most acclaimed tennis simulation game series has been dormant since 2011 when 2K Czech released Top Spin 4 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. 2K Czech, mostly known for the Mafia series, later merged into Hangar 13. It all tracks: in May 2022, Jason Schreier was the first to reveal that Hangar 13 was working on a Top Spin revival, reportedly codenamed Project Hammer.
Hangar 13 is also working on Mafia IV, according to reports, but it'll launch after Top Spin 2K25.
