However, a sketchy rumor now claims that Apple could merge the iPhone SE with the iPhone 16 lineup. While details are scarce at this stage, the tipster advises to take the news with a grain of salt.

According to Majin Bu on X, Apple could merge the iPhone 16 and iPhone SE lineup. The tipster claims that based on the latest information, Apple is working on the iPhone 16 SE and iPhone 16 SE Plus. The iPhone 16 SE and iPhone 16 SE Plus will be oriented toward the lower-end market, making them the company's budget iPhones. The rumor also shares details on the design and feature set of the devices, which lines up with earlier reports.

The tipster previously claimed that Apple's iPhone SE lineup would feature a design similar to the iPhone 16, featuring Dynamic Island on display. However, the device is only slated to house a single camera lens on the back. The next iPhone SE will still feature a 60Hz display as the company will reserve the higher refresh rate panels for its more premium models. Apple has not offered a higher refresh rate display on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus as well, which are priced comparatively higher than the competition.

Majin Bu also claims that the battery size of the iPhone SE will also be smaller than the standard iPhone 16. However, the iPhone 16 is slated to launch with a higher 120Hz refresh rate display, a dual camera lens on the back arranged in a vertical fashion, and a comparatively bigger battery. Apart from the standard model, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature top-of-the-line features
