The major «Firearms Update» for Dying Light 2 is now available as a celebration of the game's second anniversary, giving players access to all-new weapons for progressing the story. This appears to be the biggest post-launch update for Dying Light 2 yet, with several new additions and a slew of bug fixes to improve the overall player experience.
Like the original Dying Light game, Techland has supported Dying Light 2 with multiple DLC releases and major updates with free content for all players. 2023 proved to be an important year for Dying Light 2 as Techland continued to gauge player feedback and make quality-of-life improvements to the game. Techland closed out 2023 with the «Winter Tales» content update, and the company is still following its five-year plan for Dying Light 2 in 2024. The game's first content update is the Firearms Update, which brings many new weapons for players to add to their arsenals.
Techland's latest blog post details the new Dying Light 2 Firearms Update (version 1.15) featuring new pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, and many more weapons. Players who install the update and login before March 7 will earn a free Harran Pistol in their stash. Completing the Lost Armory quest and progressing the story grants access to more firearms and related items that may be useful to the player. In addition, completing the all-new Survivor and Elite Missions with friends awards Watcher Tokens, which can be used to purchase new firearms from Jai the Watcher. A greater variety of firearms and items become available after raising Jai's reputation rank.
Alongside the update's new firearms, quests, and missions, players may complete special Anniversary Bounties to earn rewards that celebrate the Dying Light franchise, such as the Acolyte Oufit, Nocturnal Tribal Machete, and Scorpio. A total of 12 bounties will be available over the span of three weeks, so players have plenty of opportunities to earn free rewards. Completing all 12 bounties awards 50 Pilgrim Tokens
