Apple recently released iOS 17.2.1 with major bug fixes for the iPhone. The update fixed a significant battery drain issue plaguing iPhone users for a while. While the update reportedly fixed the battery issues, some users still face them. Additionally, the latest iOS 17.2.1 update broke the iPhone's cellular connectivity as users can not connect to their wireless network providers. The issue has been present on various iPhone models, and Apple has yet to issue a fix.
Apple released iOS 17.2.1, with the release notes mentioning that the update features "important bug fixes." However, in China and Japan, the release notes for the same update said that the update "addresses an issue that can cause the battery to drain faster." Since the update features the same build number, we presumed that iOS 17.2.1 has fixed battery issues across the globe. However, it appears that this might not be the case. Additionally, it is now being reported that iOS 17.2.1 houses an issue that causes the iPhone to not connect to cellular network providers, ultimately breaking connectivity.
The issue was reported on Apple's Support Community Discussions (via BGR), highlighting that the cellular connectivity issues on the iPhone emerged after updating to iOS 17.2.1. A user wrote:
"After updating my iPhone last night to iOS 17.2.1, I can no longer connect to my network provider. Tried the resets, and still does not work! Vert frustrating. Trusted Apple and iPhone for years, now not so sure."
