The Game Awards of 2023 are a wrap, and Baldur’s Gate 3 has won the top honor of Game of the Year. Larian’s Swen Vincke accepted the award in full armor. The title beat out stiff competition, with fellow nominees including Alan Wake II, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros Wonder.
With the plethora of excellent games having been released this year, several of the other nominees were honored in categories besides Game of the Year. For example, Alan Wake 2 won best narrative, Tears of the Kingdom won best action-adventure game and Super Mario Bros Wonder won best family game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 also won the awards for Best RPG, Best Multiplayer and Best Community Support, while actor Neil Newbon, who plays companion Astarion in the game, won Best Performance.
