Baldur's Gate 3 is an almost constantly changing game, with the devs almost always tinkering with their masterpiece to ensure it's as good as it can be for new and current players. When Larian tweaks something, there's always the chance that something could go wrong though, which appears to be the case with everyone's favorite punching bag, Raphael.
Closer to launch, players figured out that they could get Raphael to visit their camps by avoiding every single location at which he spawns in the game. That's no small feat, as he spawns absolutely everywhere, and you'd only really be able to avoid him if you deliberately avoided certain paths and areas. Once at camp, players began beating on Raphael to get a bunch of experience points early on, making sure to silence him, so he can't teleport away.
For some reason, this only works if you attack Raphael in your camp, as he'll simply ignore the fact that he's silenced and vanish anyway if you try and do the same anywhere else in the world. Larian patched out the experience points glitch in a later update, but one player recently discovered that Raphael now drops an incredibly overpowered piece of armor, which seems like a mistake on Larian's part given it's far too powerful for that point in the game.
First discovered by Reddit user Hope_bringer and shared with the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit, following the usual steps and knocking out Raphael in your camp will now make him drop the Helldusk Armour, a stupidly powerful piece of kit with an AC of 21. It's Heavy Armor but has a perk that makes anyone proficient with it, sets people on fire if you succeed a Saving Throw, prevents you from being burned, and lets you fly. Yes, it's busted for the early game.
