With the addition of expansion, players can bring a brand-new melancholic social event to their Sims, and that is hosting a funeral. Similarly to weddings, hosting a funeral allows you to bring your Sims together for a special moment, adding another layer of reality to this simulated world.
To host a funeral, you must first have purchased and installed the expansion and the base game. Once downloaded, the expansion offers new careers, build mode items, and activities centered around honoring the cycle of life.
To begin planning a funeral, as morbid as it sounds, one of your Sims must die. Once they've passed on into their ghostly form, all that's left to do is collect the inheritance, if there is any, and plan the funeral. To do this, like most social events in, you simply need to open the calendar and select the «Add Funeral Event» option on the bottom left.
Sims can come back to life in The Sims 4: Life & Death. By completing a Soul’s Journey Bucket List, dying Sims will have the option to be reborn.
From here, you'll be brought to a new screen where you can customize the aspects of your funeral. The Sim you're controlling will be auto-generated as the host of the event, but you'll be able to select the deceased that'll be honored, as well as guests, a hired mourner, and an entertainer. Be sure to double-check the will of your deceased Sim, as some Sims may have specified that they'd prefer a certain thing at their funeral, such as a performance.
