The creatures of Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells, use a Soul Coin as their primary currency in , crafted from those who find themselves breaking their infernal contracts. You might come across this strange money as you explore the different quests and locations seen in the game's story Acts. However, reading «Soul Coin: A Treatise» sheds more light on these objects, providing details about their origin. With a high enough Arcana skill check with your character, you may also learn how the devils of Avernus use this item.
There are 14 Soul Coins in to find, making it an incredibly rare souvenir of the Nine Hells that almost acts as a collectible. The easiest one to collect comes from saving the NPC Nadira from a Bugbear assassin outside the Emerald Grove. You encounter this Tiefling as they are looking through a microscope before being attacked, and receive the Coin by passing a Deception check in a conversation after the fight.
You do not have to save Nadira from the Bugbear to collect the Soul Coin; you can also loot it from her dead body or pickpocket her at any point to get the item.
The other Soul Coins are not found as Quest Items but as normal objects found in tombs or other dungeon locations. To locate all the Soul Coins in, check out these places:
