Mortal Kombat 1's first Kombat Pack includes three comic-book characters, Peacemaker, Omni-Man (from Invincible), and Homelander (from The Boys). All three have appeared in TV adaptations over the past few years, with the first two played by John Cena and J. K. Simmons respectively. They're both reprising their roles for MK1, but there's still no word on whether Antony Starr will.
With no updates from NetherRealm, fans have been left to speculate, wondering whether someone else will take up the mantle. The strangest part about all of this is that Simmons and Cena were announced simultaneously to be reprising their roles in the game, while details on Starr have been suspiciously absent. Why that is is anyone's guess - negotiations could still be ongoing, or NetherRealm may be waiting to reveal the actor in a trailer.
However, it's worth noting that the Kombat Pack is being spread out over 2024. Omni-Man will be arriving first, followed by Quan-Chi and Peacemaker. Homelander will arrive later in Spring. The fact he is such a late addition to the first DLC roster could be why NetherRealm and Ed Boon aren't ready to discuss his character yet.
A more outlandish theory that definitely isn't true was posed a couple of months ago on the Mortal Kombat 1 subreddit. sss133 suggested that when Ed Boon mentioned Simmons and Cena, he didn't bring up Starr
