And while each of the recruitable companions comes with their very own default class, they can be changed or multiclassed for further customization.
While there's something to be said for the traditional party of tanks, DPSes, and healers, doesn't impose any kind of limit on how a party is composed. The best thing about druids is their ability to take the form of various animals using the class feature Wild Shape. Having one druid in the mix is good, but more is better, and an all-druid party can do some serious damage. Besides powerful strikes with teeth, claws, and beaks, many of the druid's Wild Shape forms grant them a ton of temporary HP, making them also effective tanks. Plus, there's just something to be said about four owlbears forming a circle around a boss, taking turns at batting them around.
In certain situations, shoving can be an incredibly useful tool. When enemies stand next to high ledges, difficult terrain, or bottomless chasms, it's possible, with a half-decent Athletics check, to push them directly into danger, and sometimes even death. A party that specializes in shoving can bully many a boss into instant submission.
