Diablo Immortal better watch its back, as Dungeon Hunter 6 has finally launched on Android. It’s the latest entry in Gameloft’s long-running action RPG series, brought to you by Goat Games.
So, what’s new? Well, it features fan-favourite classes alongside new options. The launch classes include Warrior, Assassin, Mage, Boon Sister, and Archer.
The big new feature is the lieutenants system though. This dips into the gacha gaming craze, inviting you to draw allies from a pool. Each has a rank, ranging from B to SSR, with their power growing with rank rarity.
You can then bring your favourites into battle with you, so you don’t have to go it alone. You can also recruit friends to fight alongside you in the game’s more challenging content, like PVP and dungeons.
It’s also the most visually-appealing Dungeon Hunter yet, which you should expect after an eight year wait. In terms of gameplay, it’s a very familiar experience though.
You venture into dungeons, battling monsters with a combination of weapon attacks, skills, and spells. Eventually, you will face a boss, which involves dishing out damage while avoiding their most powerful attacks.
The bad news? Well, it’s a free-to-play game, so expect heaps of play to win. This is likely to be an issue with the lieutenant system in particular.
This is a particular problem with gacha games, as the more you pull, the higher the chance of getting the most powerful units. It’s basically Diablo Immortal’s gem system in another name.
You can grab it right now on Google Play. I’ve also put together a Dungeon Hunter 6 tier list, Dungeon Hunter 6 lieutenants, and Dungeon Hunter 6 classes guide to help you get started.
