With the start of Diablo 4's second season, we have also learned that Season 3 will be released on January 23rd! Just like Season 1, Season 2's end date has been displayed on the Character Creation screen the very moment it went live. Based on the fact that Season 2 started on the day Season 1 ended, we can conclude that January 23rd, the end of Season of Blood, should mark the launch of Season 3.
Diablo 4 Season 2 Overview Diablo 4 Best Endgame Builds
Looking at Blizzard's past statements that Diablo 4 will feature four seasonal cycles and one expansion each year, the Season 3 start date in late January shouldn't come as quite a surprise.
Interestingly enough, and assuming that Diablo 4 expansion releases go hand in hand with the release of a season, January 23rd could also be one of two possible expansion release dates for Diablo 4's very first expansion. Season 2 has been well-received, at least according to numerous Reddit threads and other statements on social media. We also already know that Season 3 will introduce both leaderboards and «new endgame content» which would fit right into the feature list of a meaningful first Diablo 4 expansion.
How high are the chances that Season 3 will also mark the launch of Diablo 4's first expansion? Would a January release be too early, looking at the game's shortcomings right after launch? Let us know
