Since Season of Blood began, we have known its end date from several in-game reminders and tooltips. However, at BlizzCon, Blizzard shared a screenshot that appeared to be from an internal build, which showed a slightly different Season 2 end date.

While in-game, the end date of Season of Blood has always been displayed as January 23, 2024, during BlizzCon, and in their latest Abattoir of Zir YouTube video, it appears that the developer's internal build shows a Season 2 end date of January 26, 2024.
So, why are these two dates different, and why is this significant? This is purely speculative, but it is our hope that the January 23rd date is the true end date of Season 2 and that the January 26th date is the beginning of Season 3.
If you attempted to play during the launch of Season 2, then you're well aware that the transition between Season 1 and Season 2 was very rocky, to say the least.
Giving the team a few days between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 would allow them more time to ensure a smoother launch of Season 3.
While this theory has yet to be confirmed, it should be noted that Diablo 4 Global Community Development Director, Adam Fletcher has stated that the team would like to launch future Seasons later in the week. These weekend releases would allow gamers to spend more time in Sanctuary at the beginning of every Season.
