Hunters Can Tame Wyverns - Season of Discovery
New surprises are discovered every day in Season of Discovery, and one Hunter Rune in particular did more than just unlock a new Spell — it unlocked the ability for Hunters to tame their own Wyvern.
The Young Pridewing in the Stonetalon Mountains can now be tamed!
How to Tame Your Wyvern
First thing's first: How do you unlock the ability to tame a Wyvern?
It's all connected to the Rune of Kill Command, which has a quest chain that rewards the a Wyvern Taming Wand. Here's a step by step guide to the entire quest chain:
- Head to Stonetalon Mountains and find Jixo Madrocket, located at 59.20, 62.41. He will give you the Wild Wyvern Wrangling quest.
- To complete the quest you will need to retrieve two items, a Hypnotic Crystal and a Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic.
- The Hypnotic Crystal drops from Mutanus the Devourer, the last boss in the Wailing Caverns Dungeon.
- Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic is created by combining a Greater Magic Wand and a Wild Magic Essence, which drops from Furbolgs in Ashenvale (Foulweald Totemic for example).
- With these two items in hand, you can turn in the quest. You will receive a follow up quest, Wrangling a Wild Wyvern.
- All you have to do is follow Jixo Madrocket, and watch him tame a Wyvern.
- Upon turn in you will get Rune of Kill Command.
- You will also earn the Wyvern Taming Wand, which allows you to tame a Young Pridewing — your very own Wyvern!
Now all you have to do is find your Young Pridewing of choice in the Windshear Crag in the Stonetalon Mountains and tame it.
