Starfield has its fair share of haters, but even amongst fans, most agree that temples kinda suck. Slow and grindy, they're hardly what we want to be getting up to in a space-faring RPG, so it comes as little surprise that a bunch of fans have got together to do something about it.
Over on Nexus, numerous mods are available that try to make temples less of a pain to go through. One such mod, the aptly titled Less Annoying Temples, was highlighted by Game Rant as an option that retains the temple gameplay loop while making it less frustrating to play through.
Less Annoying Temples has a bunch of features. It works by removing some of the most irritating aspects, like having to go back and forth, dealing with tutorial pop-ups, and having to hit five distortions. With the mod, you only need to pass through one, removing some of the grind. To save you some more back and forth, you'll get new missions automatically, so you don't have to travel back to the lodge each time.
Not all modders are as eager to add fan-requested features. We were going to get a big multiplayer Starfield mod, but the creator shut it down, saying that the vanilla game is "trash".
This is far from the only mod out there for players looking to make temples easier to get through. There's also Short Temple Puzzles, which makes it so you only have to hit one or three rings to complete the puzzle. Or, if you want to bypass them entirely, you can pick up No More Temple Puzzles. This has been downloaded more than 23,000 times already, so it's fair to say that players are fine with giving them a miss.
