players who enjoy firing massive lasers at their enemies are out of luck because the latest balance update just introduced some major nerfs while also making some interesting tweaks to certain missions. Arrowhead Studios has demonstrated its passion for live-service support by issuing dozens of patches that accomplish small goals like fixing bugs and glitches to introducing larger changes like the addition of new enemies and weapons. Aside from the Quasar Cannon's nerf, several other prominent weapons have also been affected by the balance patch, including the R-36 Eruptor which is now limited to 6 extra magazines rather than the previous 12. On the flip side, several guns have been buffed to make them more competitive, including the LAS-7 Dagger, P-2 Peacemaker, P-8 Senator, AR-19 Liberator, AR-23C Liberator Concussive, and JAR-5 Dominator, all of which now deal more damage across the board.
Beyond all the buffs and nerfs, many of which also affected enemies and Stratagems, the other substantial change in the update pertained to the Spread Democracy mission which can be played on a more challenging difficulty for those Helldivers who want to push their skills.
