Life by You, an upcoming simulation game, has been hit with a third delay. This time, it has no new release date, despite its early access launch initially being scheduled for just two weeks from now.
As reported by GamesRadar+, the Sims 4 rival was just hit with an indefinite delay by publisher Paradox Interactive. In a statement, Paradox says that Life by You needs "additional development time", although it isn't able to say how much time this will be.
"After much consideration, we regret to announce that we have decided to retract Life by You’s early access release date, previously set for June 4," reads a statement from Paradox's deputy CEO, Mattias Lilja. The studio apologises to fans, but adds: "We believe that additional development time is needed."
Paradox also explains why it is not giving us a new release date: "While we would have preferred to commit to a new release window, we believe it is more prudent to hold off while we plan ahead, rather than committing to a new date that we cannot be certain to meet."
Life by You's first release date was September 12, 2023. It was then pushed back to March 5, 2024, then to June 4 the same year, and now to an unknown date.

It remains to be seen if Life by You has what it takes to rival The Sims, but we probably won't find out anytime soon. Paradox hasn't even narrowed down the game's new early access release date to a year, so it's unclear if this will still be a 2024 launch.
In the meantime, The Sims 4 is still being supported by EA, even as we approach its tenth birthday. The Sims 5 is
