August's Humble Choice lineup includes one of the best detective games of all time, an arcade simulator, and more.

The Humble Choice Collection for August 2023 is now live. Members can claim a critically acclaimed detective game, travel to medieval times, and hightail it on the road to liberation with this rich selection of eight PC games. Like previous months, members can download and keep these games forever as part of their monthly subscription to Humble Choice, which costs $12. Even if you do decide to cancel your subscription, these games will be yours to keep afterwards.
The standout game this month is Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. This is the definitive version of the RPG that makes numerous improvements to the game, such as increased frame rates, new streamer-friendly features, and more than a million fully-voiced words in total. A hit 2019 game that stars an amnesiac alcoholic detective trying to solve a strange murder, Disco Elysium has been hailed as an all-time great by numerous outlets and players over the years.
Moving on, Road 96 is about a journey to liberation. As a teenager fleeing from a volatile nation, the game is a haunting tale of survival, tough choices, and resourcefulness. It's not all doom and gloom, as there's a sense of optimism as you travel toward an uncertain but brighter tomorrow. The game is meant to be experienced multiple times, and with 100,000 permutations in it core design, there's something new to experience in each playthrough.
