Rockstar Games has taken to <a href=«https://twitter.com/RockstarGames/status/1689969964923432960?ref_src=» https:>X
to announce the hiring of Cfx.re, the team of modders behind Grand Theft Auto 5's popular FiveM project. That's despite banning everyone involved with the project back in 2015, the reasoning being that it featured “code designed to facilitate piracy.”
FiveM is a powerful framework for further modification, allowing for the creation of custom multiplayer servers. Cfx.re is also responsible for RedM, which purports to do the same with Red Dead Redemption 2. Embracing the creators as an official part of Rockstar moving forward is a boon for all players, who will likely reap the rewards of improved social and multiplayer aspects in upcoming projects. Talk about playing the long game, though; we wish the team all the best in their new, more official capacities!
