The First Descendant is busy ramping up hype for its open beta — which is dropping on the 19th September — and so we're being treated to a new 4K gameplay trailer. You can catch glimpses of different playable characters, their loadouts, and their unique abilities, as well as huge boss enemies that'll require teamwork to bring down efficiently.
Just to quickly recap, The First Descendant is a free-to-play co-op looter shooter. It's looked very promising in all of the footage that we've seen up until now, but we'll obviously have to wait and see how the whole thing comes together, especially in terms of its business model.

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
I've so have to play this game. The only issue i have is not having enough time.
I think the hit detection looked off, like the bullets went though the characters with no reactions. Just gives no sense of weight to the guns
Wow! This looks beautiful but very frenetic! Gonna need good reactions for this me thinks.
If only it was story focused singleplayer game with this technical aspects. I am still planning to try beta.

Oh my God. They know how to craft a trailer, that's for sure! My only concern is that all the characters seemed to be moving around very slowly. Maybe with the grappling there is more movement but it didn't look too frantic, which I kinda want from FPS games.
