A fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has successfully completed a quest to see all the game’s artwork in real life.
The game features 43 pieces of art which are based on real-life creations, including such pieces as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Van Gogh’s The Starry Night and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.
Players can acquire the art by purchasing it from Redd, a dodgy fox who specialises in bootleg art. Redd sells four pieces of art at a time, but four of them are fakes, so the player has to determine which is real and therefore worth buying.
Rather than settling for the video game equivalents, filmmaker and Animal Crossing fan Mayuren Naidoo decided to travel the world and see all 43 pieces in person. Now, as reported by Nintendo Life, Naidoo has finished his quest.
Naidoo posted a tweet on Sunday announcing that his journey lasted 16 months and took in 10 different countries spanning three continents. Within these countries, Naidoo visited 17 cities and a total of 29 museums to find and see the 43 pieces of art.
Naidoo also included a video montage in his tweet including footage of all 43 artworks, proving he completed the task.
